About me: I'm Lori Wilcox and I live in the magnificent north country of Michigan, the northwest part of the lower peninsula, very near Lake Michigan. In Leelanau County, as a matter of fact, a peninsula that sets west of Grand Traverse Bay, a part of Lake Michigan and that is a part of its shoreline (about 100 miles worth). Naturally, this is where I get a lot of my inspirations... my desire to be a part of this abundantly beautiful land and all its trees, flowers, hills, water and its creatures sends me to my brushes and paints without fail. It's important to me to do my best in your work; I try to get in synch with your tastes, your life, your thoughts about what you would like done. As you can see, I'm very much into detail and accurate representations but with a special eye to the auric beauty of a bird, a plant, a grandma's soul and yes, even an old alley with a couple of garbage cans and a battered fence. I know you probably think that some of the works I create are only for local customers. That's certainly true of the murals and the tromp l'oeil pieces I've done.
